I'm at a dangerous age - no, not to you - to myself!
At 61 years old, a guy (or gal) has to watch their health more than when they were younger - and my middle-age spread seemed to have taken up long term residence!
But it's not just the extra weight. I felt bloated, I didn't enjoy my meals so much, So much so that I was convinced my smell and taste buds had stopped working - I often got stomach 'pains' - often just discomfort at night. Indigestion - well I was near to main-lining Rennies!
Come to think of it, my problems probably started when I was a very much younger man...Yeah - I could have done with resolving this in my teens and twenties!
And there's another side to my story. I try hard to avoid reading 'newsy' articles, magazines, newspapers, and TV magazine-type channels - particularly the shopping channels.
Why? Because there is huge pressure on 'average Joe' (and ladies too!) to have that "Ideal Body".
Small wonder that us 'naturally rounded' folks feel inferior - you can easily see why we are consumed with losing weight and fat from our bodies!
Darn It! all I seem to see is guys with six-pack tummies, broad shoulders, tiny waists, toned rear ends.
And they've got more muscles than I've got places!
They're on TV and in magazines everywhere. And you gals are even worse off. Skinny models with enhanced bodies seem to be jumping off the page or screen. Say no more...
Now, I've never been the 'sporty' type, but when I try to diet, I find my energy levels drop like a stone in a deep pool. I'm often starving myself and my body loses its energy reserves. Don't do this! You will slow down and your body will 'reserve fat' because it thinks lean times are ahead!
Do you remember when as a child being told not to do something? And it made you wanna do it more? Our brains are complex and difficult things to control ain't they!
So when you go on a diet you think of food all day long - and this is the slippery road to fail right? My goodness, it sure is frustrating and depressing isn't it...And this gives me a short fuse with everyone around me - I blow up at any small thing. Sheesh - I become a grouch.
And the vicious circle of
"I'm feeling weaker - my weight loss is too slow - I'm really missing my favourite food - I'm feeling depressed - I'm feeling weaker....."
The Famous hypnotist Paul McKenna tells of how overweight people eat in a different way to naturally slim people.
He makes a good point: "... cut your food up, put one mouthful in your mouth, AND PUT DOWN YOUR FORK, now chew slowly and don't stop until every last particle has been chewed to bits and swallowed, then repeat.
You will feel more full earlier and may even not finish all that is on your plate!"
Paul then goes on to say, don't go on a diet - eat what you prefer - just eat it in a different way (as above). He's a smart man.
I must say, I started to watch myself and others in eating in bars and restaurants - and I could see the different eating habits between fat and slim eaters - Try It Yourself! ...then 'watch' yourself eating...
And then there's alternative, natural and herbal remedies. A huge topic that I can't fully cover here. But what is evident is that cleansing your body of toxins is almost certain to solve your health problems. I take a daily dose of natural minerals and vitamins every single day - without fail.
Don't you just get screamingly mad when you hear about...dangerous diets. These are often "fad diets" usually followed by people desperate to lose weight and fat from their bodies. They are too vulnerable.
These diets are unbalanced and often cause nasty side-effects. You might do okay to start with, but these fads usually lack the nutrition and are not very tasty - so they become boring and unappealing. Before you know it - you're chomping on a Big Mac or something....Yuck!
Being very serious now - I'm talking about eating disorders. They are often triggered by a dieter feeling hungry and low and gorging on their favourite unhealthy food. They then feel bad about themselves and cause themselves to vomit or taking laxatives. These poor folks get to the point that they automatically vomit after food. They need medical help.

So, when starting a Healthy-Lifestyle Regime (see -- NOT a diet and fitness program!). You and I need to dedicate ourselves to it.
It was during my latest round of evicting my middle aged fat layer, that I stumbled across a lady doctor who has found a Fat-Loss secret that will astound you...
This lady doctor has the whole diet food and drug industries seriously worried. She has discovered something that has them running scared for their profit margins.
She proudly boasts "...this is something that I switched onto during 2002. It was to do with research and exploration of the human colon and digestive system. It was vital these both worked closely with the nutrients that are absorbed.
So she started doing her own independent studies - data gathering to test things just at first ... and as she discovered later - led to seeing fantastic results."
These powerful results included:
- Banish illness altogether in cancer patients when linked to poor diet and overweight aspects
- The ability to totally reverse diabetes
- Total elimination of a slew of serious life-threatening diseases
Based on these successful and extreme cases, she extended her research and applied the same secret technique to milder cases (like myself for example!).
I can tell you my weight has dramatically reduced and my health has never been better. More important though - so did her test trials on numerous of similar folks to me.
